Frédéric Savart
Frédéric Savart

Savart returned to his family Domaine in the village of Écueil around 25 years ago, after toying with a career as a professional footballer. Savart’s grandfather had planted his first vines in 1947 and later passed his tiny property to Savart’s father. Frédéric worked alongside him whilst purchasing more holdings, until taking over completely in 2005. He is now very much a one-man band, tending the vines and making the champagnes single-handedly, with an artisanal yet uncompromising and focused approach to creating champagne.

Frédéric farms 4 hectares, three in Écueil and one in the village of Villers-aux-Noeuds on the slopes of the Montagne de Reims. His vines are mostly Pinot Noir, with a small amount of Chardonnay.
