Gosset is arguably the oldest wine house in Champagne, based in the village of Ay, founded in 1584, now owned by the Cognac house Frapin. All its grapes come from grand- and premier-cru vineyards, with a focus on quality rather than volume.

None of the top cuvees go through the process of malolatic fermentation which converts malic acid (an appley acidity) to lactic acid (a softer rounder acidity). This keeps the wines fresh and vibrant.
