Gosset is the oldest wine house in Champagne and was founded by Pierre Gosset in the village of Aÿ in 1584. Today the house remains small and quality-orientated focusing on terroirs from the Premier and Grand Cru vineyards surrounding Aÿ and Epernay. Winemaking is simple to allow the true flavours and characters of the wines to shine through. To this end the house avoids malolactic fermentation to retain freshness and vibrancy. This philosophy continues through to blending and ageing where nothing is hurried or forced and the wines are released only when ready. The resulting champagne’s are complex and vibrant and a real taste of champagne pairing well with food with the potential for both the non-vintage and vintage cuvées to age gracefully.
