Champagne Pol Roger has been producing exceptional champagne for almost 175 years. To this day the House remains small, family-owned, fiercely independent and unrivalled in its reputation for quality.
With vineyards on prime sites in the Vallée de la Marne, the Montagne de Reims and on the Côte des Blancs, Pol Roger selects only the finest grapes for use in its wines. The cellars run for over 7km and are on three levels, with the deepest, the ‘cave de prise de mousse’ at 34m below street level. The fact that this remains at 9C or less, rather than the more customary temperature of 11C-12C, prolongs secondary fermentation, contributing to the quality and famously fine bubbles.
The Pol Roger range starts with three non-vintage Champagnes (Brut Reserve, Pure and Rich) which are images of the Brut Reserve, with the Pure being sans dosage and the Rich being with a higher dosage. The rest of the Champagnes are comprised of vintage cuvées: Brut Vintage, Brut Rose, and Blanc de Blancs, as well as the Cuvee Sir Winston Churchill. Vintage Champagne is produced only when all the necessary components of climate, grape quality and ripeness at harvest come together for the winemaker to produce a wine of optimum intensity, structure and balance which will carry the distinctive character of the year.
